a bit of history
A colourful past
The Lamb Inn, Spaxton, has an interesting place in history with lots of stories to tell.
The Grade II-listed building that houses The Lamb Inn was originally two farmhouse cottages which date back to the 1600s, however, it’s understood the current facade was built in 1856.
The Lamb Inn has a rich history as it stands next to the site of the Agapemone otherwise known as ‘The Abode of Love’.
It was here that the Rev H J Prince caused a scandal within the Church of England in the middle of the 19th century.
